Disney has announced the release dates for a number of its upcoming films, including the next Star Wars movie. The Mandalorian & Grogu will be released on May 22, 2026, Disney announced (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed the 2026 date during an earnings call this year, but this is the first time it's officially on the release calendar and with a specific date.

Call Of Duty's Matchmaking Secrets Revealed: Here's How It Actually Works

After releasing a general overview of Call of Duty's complicated matchmaking process earlier this year, Activision is now going into granular detail on the factor it prioritizes most: ping. The deep dive is the first of four promised white papers on the subject, with Activision committing to sharing its approach with industry peers.

As revealed in January's outline, the most heavily weighted factor in Call of Duty's matchmaking is ping--the time it takes for data to travel from a player's game to the server running it. High ping can result in a bad gaming experience, with other players seeming to warp or teleport, or missing shots that appeared to be accurate.

Activision explains in the white paper that the most important statistic when it comes to ping is something it calls delta ping, which is the difference between a player's best possible data center, and the data center they end up playing on. While it would be possible to have a player queue only for their optimal data center, Activision explains that this would lead to long wait times for players searching for a match early in the morning, for example, or queueing for modes that require a high player count.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Christian Bale's Frankenstein Look Revealed For The Bride

He's been Bruce Wayne, he's been Moses, and he's been John Connor. So what's next for The Dark Knight trilogy actor Christian Bale? Playing the iconic Frankenstein's Monster, which he'll portray in The Bride.

Warner Bros. Pictures revealed a first look at Bale as "Frank" on the studio's official account for X (formerly known as Twitter). There is also a still image of Men and Chernobyl actress Jessie Buckley as The Bride. The two will be under the direction of Maggie Gyllenhaal, so it's a reunion of sorts for her and Bale. The two previously appeared together in The Dark Knight.Christian Bale will portray Frankenstein in The Bride, set to arrive in theaters on October 2, 2025.

COD Leak Reveals "Get High" Map That's Unlike Anything Else In The Franchise

After Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's latest seasonal update dropped, dataminers have unearthed details of a new map called Get High (stylized as G3T_H1GH) that's likely intended for a 4/20 event. The map is a vaporwave-inspired parkour race course, where players will be tasked with getting as high as possible--in the elevation sense, of course.

Modern Warfare 3's latest season already has a number of references to 4/20, including two Snoop Dogg operator skins, Cheech and Chong joining the game complete with a weed-themed finishing move, and a DLC bundle called Stoney Sloth.

As well as a reworked map called Growhouse, leakers have revealed the more unusual Get High map, which is likely to come to the game closer to the April 20. Dataminer BobNetworkUK posted a video of the vaporwave-styled obstacle course, where it appears players will have to race to reach the highest point possible within the time limit. Free Stars: Children Of Infinity Trailer Debuts, Kickstarter Coming Soon

A new trailer for Free Stars: Children of Infinity has arrived, providing a closer look at the direct sequel to the sci-fi cult classic The Ur-Quan Masters. Pistol Shrimp Games, led by Paul Reiche III and Fred Ford, is creating the retro-inspired arcade-style space combat game.

Reiche and Ford are the co-founders of Toys for Bob, which created Star Control and Star Control II. Stardock now owns the rights to the Star Control series, and as such, the new Free Stars games are not able to use the Star Control name. As such, Children of Infinity is basically a spiritual successor to Star Control.

"Set three years after the defeat of the Ur-Quan hierarchy and its Sa-Matra battle platform, a new discovery draws the captain into an old mystery. One Of The Coolest Parts Of Hellblade 2 Is The Rocks

It shouldn't come as a surprise to me anymore that this generation of consoles are powerful machines and studios can just more easily disguise their witchcraft to create cool visual effects, but I'm still routinely dumbfounded. The latest example is Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, in which Ninja Theory has managed this incredible visual trickery with rocks.

As you're walking through Hellblade II's Iceland, you may notice some outcroppings that suspiciously look like faces. These are examples of protagonist Senua's psychosis tricking her mind into recognizing a pattern that's not actually there. If you choose to focus on these optical illusions, they'll shift and reveal secret tunnels for Senua to maneuver through. When I played Hellblade II on Xbox Series X, the transformation was seamless, mimicking (albeit on a grander scale) what it's like for your eyes to play tricks on you in real life. It's incredible.

"A lot of it came from speaking with [Bernard Wolfe Professor of Health Neuroscience] Paul Fletcher and the people with lived experience [of psychosis]," Ninja Theory VFX director Mark Slater Tunstill told me. "That's kind of a privilege for us; for those people to be open enough to talk about their experiences and what they've gone through, what they are going through. Dead Cells Lives On In Dev's Faster-Paced, Multiplayer Successor, Windblown

Windblown's fast, flashy combat and seemingly lighthearted aura are what first caught my eye. In its trailer, anthropomorphic animal heroes move like lightning and slash through enemies with swords and daggers. Innocent slacking during a training session turns into a war cry as a bulky enemy effortlessly slices through a teammate, red splashing onto the battlefield as you rush in for the final blow. Like Dead Cells, the previous game from developer Motion Twin, it excited me with what looked to be responsive, creative gameplay with a dark underbelly waiting to be discovered through environmental storytelling.

At GDC 2024, GameSpot took a sneak peek at Windblown and spoke to Motion Twin about its inspirations and what the team aimed to accomplish. Motion Twin announced in February that Dead Cells support would end after the upcoming "End is Near" update. Thankfully for fans of that game, Windblown aims to take Dead Cells' strengths and build on them with new features that Motion Twin wanted to see in a cooperative, fast-paced action game. On top of that, Windblown is an opportunity for the studio to go beyond its comfort zone and work on features it hasn't offered before, like 3D and multiplayer.

"For us, the goal was to create a super fast-paced action game that we can play with friends," Motion Twin's Yannick Berthier told us. "That was what we wanted. To be able to play together. But we could not find [a game with that]. We could find really good multiplayer games. We could find super good fast-paced games. Actress Hannah Waddingham has once again discussed her character's waterboarding sequence in Game of Thrones, and how it's left her with chronic claustrophobia.

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Waddingham said filming that sequence in particular was "horrific." She said she spent 10 hours of "being actually waterboarded" to get the shot. She was strapped down so she could not lift her head in an effort to make the scene more believable as grape juice was poured over her face. PlayStation Showcase Coming In May With Silent Hill 2 Remake - Report

The Silent Hill 2 remake by Bloober Team may have a release date, or at least a release window soon, according to insider information and a recent ESRB rating. The remake has officially received an unsurprising M rating from the ESRB, suggesting the game may be getting close to release.

The rating was picked up by Jeff Grubb on the Giant Bomb podcast, who also said he has "heard that there will be a PlayStation something, either a State of Play or a showcase, next month, in May." Putting the pieces together, Grubb suggests that the Silent Hill 2 remake is likely to be there, and that "a release window might be imminent."

Sony's most recent State of Play in January revealed new footage of the remake, including our first look at Bloober's take on Silent Hill combat. PS Plus Premium/Extra Is Getting A Day One Free Game This April

Sony has revealed that one of its PlayStation Plus Premium/Extra games for April is also a day one release: Tales of Kenzera: ZAU. The debut game from actor Abubakar Salim's studio, Surgent Studios, will come to PlayStation Plus' Premium/Extra library when it releases on April 23.

Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is a 2.5D metroidvania action/adventure inspired by Bantu tales, which follows the story of protagonist Zau as he contends with grief following the death of a loved one. GameSpot writer Kurt Indovina previewed the upcoming game earlier this year, praising Tales of Kenzera's cathartic handling of its subject matter, as well as its solid 2.5D metroidvania gameplay.

Tales of Kenzera: ZAU will release on April 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and on the PlayStation will join the list of titles to join the PlayStation Plus game catalog on the day of its release. Helldivers 2 Patch Makes It Easier To Rescue Squishy Civilians, Triples Level Cap

A new Helldivers 2 patch is live, bringing with it numerous tweaks, buffs, and new environmental threats to the game. As if firestorms, tremors, and ion storms weren't bad enough, you can now expect to encounter blizzards and sandstorms on certain planets while trying to avoid the insect hordes and the chanting Automaton forces. For anyone looking to chase higher numbers and new titles, the game's level cap has tripled from 50 to 150, and PS5 owners can expect the loadout-reset bug to be addressed in this patch.

Developer Arrowhead has also reworked several weapons, tweaking and buffing them to be more effective in battle. The Anti-Materiel Rifle does 30% more damage, the Arc Thrower has increased stagger force, and the Dominator got a big damage boost. A few weapons have been tweaked to be more balanced, but when you're out of Stratagems, your arsenal should be more reliable when your back is against the wall.

Other interesting changes include the Retrieve Essential Personnel mission being easier to complete. Additionally, and the negative effects of operation modifiers that increase stratagem cooldowns have been halved. This particular mission will see enemy spawn points moved farther away, giving players a fighting chance to shepherd civilians into a bunker when they're being chased by homicidal machines equipped with chainsaw-arms.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Dragon's Dogma 2 Sells 2.5 Million Copies In A Week

Capcom has announced that Dragon's Dogma 2 has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide since its launch on March 22, bringing the series to 10 million units sold overall. In comparison, it took the first Dragon's Dogma took two years to reach this same sales milestone.

Capcom revealed the news in a press release, emphasizing the series' unique pawn system and its character creator, the latter of which launched several days prior to the game's release. That period in between allowed players to show off both equally stunning and nightmarish characters that they made.

The sales number is impressive given that the game has received some backlash for its rocky launch, especially on PC, which had frame rate issues. A lot of what you might see on the internet today is fake due to April Fools', but this news is real (we think). Sega and IHOP are partnering to bring fans Sonic-themed food at the popular breakfast spot. Additionally, people who visit IHOP and buy themed meals can earn loyalty points that they can cash in for DLC for Sonic Superstars or for entire Sonic games.

The menu includes "Sonic's Blue Blur Special," which comes with four buttermilk pancakes and double the blueberries "for double the speed." Another item is the "Knuckles' Chicken Sandwich," which is a crispy chicken sandwich with bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, and buttermilk ranch.
