The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is undoubtedly one of the best Switch games of all time. Weaving an engaging narrative with inventive gameplay mechanics and a sprawling world to explore, the successor to Breath of the Wild quickly proved it was far more than just an asset flip. A sometimes overlooked part of its success is its soundtrack, which is filled with powerful tracks that help bring the diverse world of Hyrule to life. And if you want to keep listening to its music while away from your Switch and have a cool display piece, you'll be glad to know that Tears of the Kingdom: Official Soundtrack preorders are now open.

The Tears of the Kingdom: Original Soundtrack is expected to begin shipping in August. Amazon lists the release date as August 9, while Play Asia lists it for August 5. You will, however, get it sooner from Amazon if you live in the US, simply because you'll be importing from overseas at Play Asia.

The Tears of the Kingdom original soundtrack includes over 200 tracks across nine discs. Each disc features gorgeous Zelda iconography and comes with a large, decorative storage case.

Note: Play Asia's price is $72 plus shipping and import fees, while Amazon's price is $136, at least for the time being. If you preorder from Amazon now, you won't be charged until your order ships in August. Plus, you will pay the lowest price offered between the time you order and release. It's highly unlikely this soundtrack will actually sell for $136 on Amazon. We'd expect it to drop significantly--close to Play Asia's price--before release. So you could secure your preorder now and cancel later if the launch price is too high.

Note: Amazon is currently charging $194 for the collector's edition version of the Tears of the Kingdom soundtrack (versus $120 plus import fees at Play Asia). Just like with the standard edition, it's unlikely you'll actually wind up spending $194. GTA Parent Company CEO Is Very Enthusiastic About Generative AI

Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two, has weighed in with his thoughts on how new technology like generative AI could impact the video game industry. Speaking at the TD Cowen Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference, Zelnick said generative AI will absolutely shake up how games are made, but it will not reduce employment levels.

"Generative AI will allow us to do a bunch of things more efficiently, so we'll turn out attention to other things. Those other things will probably still be costly and time-consuming," he said. "I don't think for a minute that generative AI is going to reduce employment. That's crazy. That's actually crazy. It's not going to make people irrelevant. It's going to change the nature of certain forms of employment. And that's a good thing."

As an example, Zelnick said in the 1870s, around 65-70% of the US population made their living in the agriculture business. Today, that number is around 1-2%. Bill Skarsgård will be reprising his role from the previous It films.

Welcome to Derry, which comes from Warner Bros. Television, is being developed by the director of the movies, Andy Muschietti, along with his sister, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Spoilers Have Reportedly Leaked, So You Might Want To Go Offline

Anyone looking to jump into Destiny 2's The Final Shape expansion next week might want to steer clear of the internet for a while, as some players reportedly accessed the new content after it accidentally went live. According to a warning post on the Destiny 2 subreddit, details on the entire campaign, seasonal content, and the raid were leaked online.

"If you don't like leaks/spoilers, tomorrow is gonna be hell. Get off the internet. It's so bad that I'd be surprised if they didn't just release The Final Shape early to avoid people getting spoiled," the warning reads.

Bungie has not responded to the leaks yet, which are reportedly the result of an accidental update made by Sony. PlayStation Boss Reveals Why Sony Doesn't Release Most PS5 Games On PC Day-And-Date

Repeating what he originally said in 2022, PlayStation boss Hermen Hulst said during Sony's latest business update briefing that Sony will not launch most of its first-party "tentpole" titles to PC at the same time as they come to PlayStation 5. The exception here is for live-service titles, which is something Hulst also made clear years ago. Microsoft, on the other hand, launches many of its first-party games on Xbox and PC at the same time, and also as day-one releases on Game Pass.

"We have a dual approach here. On the live-service side, we are releasing our titles simultaneously, so day-and-date on PlayStation 5 and PC. But with our tentpole titles--our single-player, narrative-driven titles that are the backbone of what PlayStation Studios has delivered in recent years and in our history--we take a more strategic approach," Hulst, the new co-CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said.

Back in 2022, Hulst said the company would not bring its marquee first-party PS5 games to PC for at least a year after they originally debut. The exception is live-service exclusive games like Helldivers II, which launched on Steam and PS5 on the same day earlier this year. Fortnite's Best Season Ever Is Here, And It's Thanks To One Key Thing

Last week, Fortnite kicked off its 30th season in the game's unique history. It became a pop-culture titan almost immediately after it debuted in 2017 and has not only enjoyed a level of sustained success that few other games have ever achieved, it's also turned many other live-service games into followers that must react to the waves Epic's game creates. Fortnite has blazed trails and reinvented itself more times than I can easily recall, and yet it's the latest season, Chapter 5 Season 3, that might be the game's best effort yet.

Subtitled Wrecked, this season of Fortnite reinvents the game to an extent Epic has arguably never gone before. Despite seasons debuting roughly four times a year and the introduction of new islands now being an annual event, Wrecked feels like the biggest and boldest change in how the game plays since Chapter 2 Season 3, which saw the entire island be submerged under flood waters that took weeks to recede. Once they did, cars were newly introduced, too, which further altered the future of Fortnite in major ways. Funnily enough, it's this season's focus on vehicles that's resulted in such an immediately exciting and fresh experience.

This season is, to put it bluntly, Twisted Metal. With its punk rock- and dieselpunk-inspired setting befitting of Mad Max, the huge sand dunes and high-velocity stunt ramps make each round the most chaotic experience I've seen in my thousands of hours playing Fortnite. Early portions of a round tend to involve players not just loading up on guns and healing items. Nintendo Switch Sales Slide As Console Enters Its Eighth Year

The Nintendo Switch is entering its eighth year of existence, and while sales remain somewhat steady, overall sales of both hardware and software on the console declined year-on-year from fiscal year 2023 to 2024. That's according to a recent financial report from Nintendo, which broke down the company's performance on a number of levels.

As one slide of the presentation shows, sales of Nintendo Switch hardware declined by 12.6% year-on-year from 17.97 million to 15.70 million, driven primarily by a 37.1% decrease in the amount of vanilla Switches sold. However, the OLED Nintendo Switch slightly increased its sales by 1.1%. Software sales also declined from 213.96 million to 199.67 million, a decrease of 6.7%.

Nintendo has confirmed that it'll hold a June Nintendo Direct once again this year, but don't expect to see a teaser for the Switch 2 during this livestream. On X/Twitter, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed the showcase and how it'll be focused on titles arriving for the Switch in the latter half of 2024.

"We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June regarding the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the latter half of 2024, but please be aware that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during that presentation," Shuntaro posted.

While a look at the Switch successor is off the table, this Nintendo Direct will at least give owners of the current console a closer look at the games coming to the system. Additionally, Activision has announced it received the biggest-ever private donation to the endowment to the tune of $2.5 million.

So far, the biggest mystery surrounding Star Wars: The Acolyte is why a former Padawan learner has become so hell-bent on getting revenge on the Jedi that she's trying to murder them one-by-one. A younger version of Mae (Amandla Stenberg) was briefly glimpsed as a child in the first trailer for The Acolyte, but the newly released video shows more of her rampage. Since Mae is wielding knives instead of a red lightsaber, it suggests that she isn't affiliated with the Sith... at least not yet. In one of the most intriguing scenes from the new trailer, a masked member of the Sith confronts several Jedi. Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree Is "First And Last DLC," No Other Content Planned

Elden Ring - Shadow of the Erdtree--the expansion to FromSoftware's 2022 action-RPG--is coming next month, and it will add a new layer to the story of one of gaming's most-recent smash hits--and GameSpot's 2022 Game Of The Year. Unfortunately for Elden Ring fans, this extra chapter will be the only DLC expansion, as game director Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that no other new content will be coming to the game after it.

Per GamesRadar, Miyazaki made the statement while speaking with Chinese outlet Campfire Camp, where he calls Shadow of the Erdtree the "the first and last DLC" and the "only DLC" in multiple instances. However, in the same interview, Miyazaki does not rule out another game set in the Elden Ring world, though he does not confirm one either.

Previously, Bandai Namco has stated that Elden Ring would be made "in a variety of other areas" beside gaming, but no other projects outside of the Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC have been announced. From Software, meanwhile, has since revived a dormant franchise with last year's Armored Core VI: Fires Of Rubicon. Shōgun's Anna Sawai Says Her J-Pop Group Made Her Turn Down Suicide Squad Audition

Between her supporting part in F9: The Fast Saga and her leading roles in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and Shōgun, Anna Sawai seems to be poised for greater stardom in the future. However, Sawai recently revealed that she was forced to turn down a chance to audition in 2016's Suicide Squad, which could have helped her break out sooner.

At the time, Sawai was a member of a J-Pop girl group, FAKY, and under a strict contract that limited what she could do outside of music. Sawai shared the story during her appearance on The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast. She also recalled being excited about a "big audition" for Suicide Squad because the film's producers "were looking for a Japanese girl" to play Katana.

"I was like, 'This is my chance!' And then I go to my manager and he's like, 'You can’t audition,'" said Sawai. "They basically told me that if I'm gone for over a month, the girls [the other members of FAKY] are not going to have anything to do... It felt like they were really tying me down, and because of my contract, I couldn't leave until the time that I actually left [in 2018]."Continue Reading at GameSpot
