Fortnite Season 6: Pets, New Battle Pass Goodies & More

In Short: Epic Games’ popular Fortnite: Battle Royale has officially entered Season 6, an update that brings a whole new Battle Pass bonus set, along with pets, a new consumable item, bug fixes and more. The new Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks, or about $9.50 USD, and buys you 100 new levels, over 100 rewards that can be unlocked through playing, and two new skins that appear instantly when you buy the package. Pets, meanwhile, manifest as a passive feature in that they’ll follow you around and react to situations happening around you without your input. The new consumable, meanwhile, is called the Shadow Cube, and it induces Shadow Form, rendering you invisible but unable to attack, and also unable to suffer fall damage, for 45 seconds.

Background: Particularly astute Fortnite players or those who follow news related to the game may be aware of some spooky goings-on in the game universe, and this month’s Season 6 reveal shows off a number of things that relate to those. The Shadow Cube is the biggest example. A few new weapons have been added into the game, while some of the loadout has been stashed away for now. Mobile gamers are playing the same game as console gamers, so it’s important to mind these changes across the board, if you want to be successful in the game. .
