Samsung Galaxy P30 Gets Certified With 6GB of RAM, Glass Back

In Short: The upcoming Samsung Galaxy P30 handset has surfaced on TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), which essentially means it got certified in that country. That listing not only reveals the design of the device, but it also sheds some light on its specifications as well. If you take a look at the provided images down below, you will notice that the Galaxy P30 will be made out of metal and glass, while it will sport two cameras on the back. A fingerprint scanner will also sit on the back of the device, while its cameras will protrude a bit. The power / lock key will sit on the right, while the volume up and down buttons will be included on the left. Now, as far as specs are concerned, the device will be fueled by a 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz, while it will sport a 5.99-inch fullHD+ display. The phone will also pack in 6GB of RAM and 64GB /128GB of expandable storage. Android 8.1 Oreo will come pre-installed on the device, while a dual SIM setup will also be available. 12 and 2-megapixel cameras will sit on the back of the phone, while a 5-megapixel camera will be included on the front. The Galaxy P30 will sport a 3,300mAh battery with fast charging, while it will measure 156.14 x 76.4 x 8.39mm, and ship with Bluetooth 5.0. TENAA also mentions that the phone will arrive in Black, Blue Red, and Pink color variants.

Background: The Galaxy P30 has been leaking for weeks now, and the device is actually rumored to arrive alongside the Galaxy P30 Plus, which is rumored to sport an in-display fingerprint scanner, though we don’t really know how likely that is, as that phone will also be a mid-range offering by the company. Some rumors actually suggested that these two phones may launch under the company’s ‘Galaxy A’ series in most countries, though it remains to be seen how accurate that info is.

Impact: The Galaxy P30 and P30 Plus seem very promising, as they will be well-equipped in the spec department, while the design will also be solid, based on the images that TENAA provided. We’re not entirely sure when will these two smartphones become official, but chances are they will launch sometime this month. Samsung is yet to announce a press event for the launch of the Galaxy P30, though there’s a chance the company will not host a press conference at all, we’ll see.
