In Short: A well-known tipster, Evan Blass (aka @evlaks), has just shared a new image of the upcoming Razer Phone 2. If you check out the image above, you will be able to see a render of the Razer Phone 2, which reveals a similar design to the first-gen model, as expected. This image actually shows both the phone’s front and back sides, and as you can see, the device will sport two vertically-aligned cameras on the back, while a dual-tone flash will be included in-between them. A huge Razer logo will be included on the back of the phone as well, while the device will once again sport rather thick bezels above and below the display. Those bezels are not a surprise at all, as the device is expected to sport front-facing speaker, and this is primarily a gaming phone, so users need to have something to grip it properly. A 3.5mm headphone jack is not located on the bottom, though there’s a chance it will be available on the top of the device.
Background: Earlier this month, we’ve shared an exclusive image of the Razer Phone 2, revealing the design of the device’s front side. Well, this render that Evan Blass shared actually goes hand-in-hand with the image we shared, and we can say that this is the upcoming Razer Phone 2, those leaks are accurate. The original Razer Phone was announced back in November last year, and it’s actually quite similar to the upcoming version, especially if you compare their front side designs. The upcoming Razer Phone 2 is expected to sport a display which will measure about 6 inches in diagonal, while the device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core SoC, and it will probably come with 8GB of RAM. The Razer Phone 2 is expected to include a QHD display, and a large battery on the inside.
Impact: The Razer Phone was a smartphone tailored for gamers, and its successor will aim to please the same pool of users. It remains to be seen if Razer will bring back the 120Hz display on the device, but chances are it will, while the phone is expected to be made out of metal. We’re still not sure when will the Razer Phone 2 arrive, but chances are it will launch in November, one year after the Razer Phone.
